GENERAL | What is stall torque?

Stall refers to a standstill, stopped state.
So, it is a state when a device’s output rotational speed is zero.
It may also refer to a load that causes the device’s rotational speed to become zero (to make it stall).
This value should not be applied as an operational torque.

Normally, it is recommended to design your device to have only 1/5 of the stall torque on the device’s load.

The AX-12A’s stall torque is 1.5N.m (about 15.3kgf.cm), so the design should have 0.3N.m (about 3.1kgf.cm) or less.
